פרשת ראה

Parashat Reeh

“See”

Moshe instructions in this parashah refer to the absolute prohibition of idolatry, as God chose the Holy Land for His Name to dwell there and it is the duty of the Israelites to keep His laws and commands, completely rejecting the custom of the peoples who lived there. Otherwise, the Children of Israel will be cursed and perish. The way of offering sacrifices is also clarified here, as well as the laws of kashrut (ritual diet). Moshe details the three pilgrimage festivals: Passover, Shavu‘ot, and Sukkot.
